Hey everybody! Today’s episode features the lovely Nina Freeman! I recorded this episode back in November before I’d participated in a Game Jam, and talking with Nina (along with talking to Adriel not long beforehand) is actually what inspired me to participate in my first one shortly thereafter. I highly recommend to anyone who’s considering getting into games that they find a game jam and give it a whirl.
Nina Freeman
Games Designed: how do you Do It?, Mangia, & some other tiny games about her life
Current Project: Cibele
Magic Power: Writing about herself and somehow turning her stories into vignette games

I met Nina at Indiecade where she was showing off how do you Do It?. I won’t go on about the game itself since I’ve already garbled praise for said game, but long story short you bump dolls together in an attempt to explore the idea of sex through the mindset of someone who isn’t entirely sure how sex works yet. She’s an absolutely lovely human being who was very kind, and had much more tact than I when it came to observing people awkwardly re-live possibly embarrassing moments from their childhood. Her games tend to focus on stories of the human experience, often inspired by her own life. She’s a plot point in an amazing trend that indie gamedev has been taking, pushing games past their current storytelling boundaries.
Hope you enjoy!
